CoastConnect unites for sustainable blue tourism

By building networks, engaging stakeholders and further developing previous initiatives such as Eko Marina and BaltSusBoating 2030, the CoastConnect project will strengthen coastal communities, reduce environmental impacts and protect the sensitive environment of the Baltic Sea.

CoastConnect aims to establish a strong foundation for sustainable blue tourism in the East Baltic Coast and Swedish coast of the Baltic Sea. The project will form a project consortium, building a stakeholder network, assessing development needs, and fund co-operating actions for sustainable blue tourism and resilient coastal societies.

The project adopts a transnational approach, leveraging partner expertise to advance sustainable blue tourism in the Baltic Sea. It emphasizes stakeholder engagement, workshops, and digital collaboration to build a strategic foundation, drawing on best practices in previous projects such as Eko Marina and BaltSusBoating 2030.

The initiative aims to expand the consortium with regional authorities and environmental organizations to build on the "East Baltic Coast Harbours Guide" and integrate sustainability tools. The long-term goal is to unite stakeholders in minimizing environmental impacts, promoting eco-conscious tourism, and protecting the Baltic Sea’s unique brackish marine environment.
